David Bonsey is an award-winning violin maker with more than 35 years of professional experience in the string instrument community. As Director of Fine Musical Instruments for Skinner Inc. of Boston from 1999 to 2013, he brought to auction some of the world's rarest instruments, including Stradivari, Guarneri, Guadagnini, Ceruti and Gagliano, with many achieving world record prices. World record prices were also set for Gibson Guitars and Mandolins. He can be seen regularly on Antiques Roadshow on PBS, where he is a regularly featured appraiser. He has been a contributor to magazines and newspapers, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Strad, and Strings.
