After I graduaded from a wood carving vocational school in 1958, I was hired at the local musical instruments factory in 1960. Until 1963 I passed through all the stages of making string instruments.

ciurba nicolae Being appreciated for my passion and skills I was selected, together with my colleague Precup Florea, by Master Roman Boianciuc to manufacture master’ s instruments, and so I had the occasion to be a disciple of Master Boianciuc until 1974.
Despite the communist regime not being friendly, I managed to participate at some international contests, such as…, and I succeeded in getting to Cremona, the homeland of musical instruments, twice.
Because of the same communist regime, I didn’t manage to work privately until the beginning of 1993 when, together with my elder son, we opened our own workshop. Since then we made musical instruments to be sold in the country and abroad. In almost each philarmonic orchestra there is an instrument made by me, and the Romanian instrumentalists who decided to work abroad took my instruments to very many countries, either European or other continents.
Since the tragic loss of my elder son in 2011, I have been working with my Cremona trained younger son as well as our skilled assistants. -
Nach meinem Abschluss an der Schnitzkunstschule im Jahr 1958 wurde ich von der örtlichen Instrumentenmanufaktur angestellt. Bis zum Jahr 1963 erlernte ich dort alle Phasen der Herstellung von Saiteninstrumenten. ciurba nicolae Weil ich durch meine Leidenschaft und Fähigkeiten auf mich aufmerksam machen konnte, wurde ich, zusammen mit meinem Kollegen Precup Florea, durch den Geigenbaumeister Roman Boianciuc ausgewählt, Meisterinstrumente herzustellen. Und so hatte ich die Möglichkeit bis ins Jahr 1974 mit Meister Boianciuc zusammenzuarbeiten.

Trotz des repressiven kommunistischen Regimes, konnte ich es möglich machen an einigen internationalen Wettbewerben teilzunehmen. So gelang es mir zweimal nach Cremona zu reisen: die Geburtsstätte des Instrumentenbaus. Wegen der politischen Situation war es mir bis ins Jahr 1993 nicht möglich, selbständig zu arbeiten. Anschliessend gründete ich, zusammen mit meinem ältesten Sohn, ein gemeinsames Atelier. Seither stellen wir Instrumente für den nationalen und internationalen Verkauf her. In beinahe jedem philharmonischen Orchester wird eines meiner Instrumente gespielt. Rumänische Instrumentalisten, die im Ausland arbeiten, trugen meine Instrumente nach Europa und darüber hinaus.
Seit dem tragischen Tod meines ältesten Sohnes im Jahr 2011, arbeite ich mit meinem jüngeren Sohn, der seine Ausbildung in Cremona erhalten hat, sowie weiteren Fachkräften zusammen. -
Dupa ce am absolvit in anul 1958 o scoala de meserii in domeniul prelucrarii lemnului,in anul 1960 m-am angajat la intreprinderea de instrumente muzicale.Pana in 1963 am trecut pe la toate fazele prelucrarii instrumentelor cu coarde pentru arcus. ciurba nicolae Fiind apreciat pentru pasiune si indemanare,am fost selectati ,impreuna cu colegul meu Precup Florea,de catre Maestrul Roman Boiancuc sa confectionam instrumente de maestro. Astfel, am avut ocazia sa stau sub disciplina maestrului Boianciuc pana in anul 1974,an in care am inceput sa lucrez individual.

Chiar daca regimul comunist nu a fost foarte prietenos ,am reusit sa particip la cateva concursuri internationale ,precum……..,si am reusit sa ajung de doua ori la Cremona ,patria instrumentelor muzicale.In urma vizitei din 1988 la Cremona si celor povestite fiului cel mic ,acesta s-a hotarat sa urmeze cursurile acestei scoli.
Din anul 1982 l-am avut ucenic pe fiul meu cel mare Nicolae -Sorin ,moment in care am fost sigur ca cineva din familie va continua sa lucreze in acest domeniu si va incepe o traditie in familie.
Tot datorita regimului comunist nu am reusit sa lucrez in privat decat incepand cu anul 1993, an in care impreuna cu fiul cel mare am deschis atelierul nostru pe cont propiu.
In toti acesti ani am facut instrumente care s-au vandut in tara si in strainatate.Aproape in fiecare filarmonica din tara exista un instrument executat de mine, iar instrumentistii romani, care au hotarat sa activeze in strainatate, au dus instrumentele mele in foarte multe tari ,fie europene sau de pe alte continente.
Din pacate ,dupa marea pierdere a fiului meu cel mare ,in anul 2011,am urmat sa lucrez doar cu fiul cel mic si colaboratorii nostri.
