I am Bai Lixing,born in 1950.When I was about 20 years old,I was given the opportunity to meet a very famous luthier, he made a beautiful violin by using very simple tools.I felt very surprised by his professional skills,technologies due to this instrument generated bright music. I had been infatuated with it and was inspired to be able to create such an instrument one day in the future. I had made a great decision to be working as a professional luthier in that moment and it has driven me to be determined in fulfilling that dream. Having worked in the China National Opera House, I had the chance to be in partnership with the professional state violinists to discuss the components of the arts, tone, materials and fittings, repairing and to study some of the heritage of string instruments including the violin. Due to the accumulation of experience and skill, scientific knowledge and my inspiration gathering in the last 40 years, I am one of a few top leveled luthiers now. As an independent handmade luthier, I am making traditional, modern and hybrid models relating to the application of my own methodology of the works of art development and innovation. The big reward from my clients came to me during the recent years. All my works have been recognized by professional violinists from 27 countries in the world. I promise to my clients that the violins coming from my outlet and embedded with my characters and identities were created by my hands in my studio instead of the factory products. The factory can produce trendy and fashionable violins but the machine is unable to identify the difference among the wood material, fittings and tone as I do it with my heart. This is the secret to why I am able to provide my clients with the formidable works of art.
I am in the golden creative stage as a professional luthier and appreciate to make marvelous works of art and also would like to listen the feedback of any requests and questions.
