Frédéric Chaudière set up his workshop in Montpellier (France) back in 1986. The violins, violas and violoncellos that he makes are played around the globe by notable soloists: Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Natalia Gutman, Ruggiero Ricci, Norbert Brainin, Igor Ozim, Alexander Sitkovetski, Gilles Apap, Natalia Boyarsky, Rainer Moog, and Young-Chang Cho, among others. Frédéric Chaudière was also the curator behind the “Stradivarius-Montpellier 2008′ exhibition hosted by the Fabre Museum in Montpellier. A Stradivarius orchestra was put together with the 20 Stradivarius featured in the exhibition, and performed the opening concert for Radio France and Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon Festival. A world first!
Together with his fellow luthiers from the Sainte-Anne district, Frédéric launched a series of concerts named ‘Paroles d’Instruments’ in September 2012. These concerts are presented at the Hôtel Magnol, a historic mansion located at 10 Rue du Bayle, in Montpellier.

The concerts feature remarkable artists and high-quality pieces of music, but their aim is to highlight the instruments themselves. In this way, the audience learn about how the instruments are made, about their story and about the musicians who have played them. -
Frédéric Chaudière a ouvert son atelier à Montpellier (France) en 1986. Frédéric Chaudière a aussi été à l’origine de l’Exposition « Stradivarius-Montpellier 2008 » qui s’est tenu au Musée Fabre de Montpellier. Cette exposition, dont Frédéric Chaudière était commissaire, a réuni 20 chefs d’oeuvres de ce maître. Ces instruments exceptionnels ont permis de constituer un orchestre de Stradivarius qui a fait le concert d’ouverture du festival de Radio France et de Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon. Une première mondiale !
Avec ses collègues luthiers du quartier Sainte-Anne, Frédéric a aussi lancé, en septembre 2012, la série de concerts « Paroles d’Instruments ». Au-delà des interprètes remarquables et de la qualité des œuvres proposés, ces concerts mettent l’accent sur les instruments joués. Le public découvre ainsi leur histoire à travers des anecdotes, apprend des informations sur leur fabrication et sur les artistes qui les ont joués…
