Nato a Cremona nel 1957, ha conseguito il diploma presso la Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria di Cremona nel 1981.Nel 1982-1983 ha frequentato il laboratorio di restauro di strumenti musicali del Germanisches Nationalmuseum di Norimberga, sotto la guida del Maestro F. Hellwig.Nel 1983-84 ha lavorato nel laboratorio privato del restauratore/maestro J.F.Schmitt a Lione.Nel 1985-87 e nel 1991-93 ha insegnato ai corsi professionali della Regione Lombardia per il restauro degli strumenti ad arco.Nel 1988 ha partecipato con una viola all V Triennale Internazionale di Liuteria di Cremona vincendo una medafglia d'argento.Nel 1994 ha partecipato con un violoncello alla VII Triennalee della stessa manifestazione, aggiudicandosi il primo premio con medaglia d'oro.Ha collaborato in più occasioni con la Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria di Cremona per corsi di restauro e montatura di strumenti ad arco.Lavora nella sua bottega situata nel centro storico di Cremona, dedicandosi alla costruzione di strumenti ad arco, ispirandosi ai liutai classici cremonesi e ad alcuni dei più rappresentativi maestri liutai contemporanei (G. ornati, F. Garimberti, A. Poggi).
fuente: página web personalAlessandro Voltini was born in Cremona in 1957. He completed his diploma at the International Violinmaking School in Cremona in 1981.
From 1982-83 he attended the worhshop of musical instrument restoration at the Germanisches National Museum in Nurnberg under the guidance of F. Hellwig. From 1983-84 he worked in the private workshop of the master restorer J. F. Schmitt in Lyon, where he had the opportunity to see and study many important instruments. From 1985-87 and 1991-93 Alessandro Voltini taught in the regional course of string instrument restoration.
In 1988 he participated with a viola in the 5th Cremona Triennial where he won a silver medal.
In 1994 he won first prize with a cello at the 7th Triennial in Cremona.
On more than one occasion he has collaborated in restoration courses and classes on the set-up ofs tring instruments with the International Violinmaking School of Cremona, where he became teacher in the year 2000. He is charged for the maintenance of the collections of the winning instrument of the triennale competitions.
In the 2001 , 2003 and 2008 he was invited as jury member at the International violinmaking competition organised from the violinmaking school in Queretaro ( Mexico ).
He is member of the organizational committee of the A.L.I.
Currently he works in the center of Cremona where he dedicates himself to the construction of string instruments inspired by the classical Cremonese masters as well as some of the most representative modern violinmakers (G. Ornati, F Garimberti, A. Poggi). He recognized the importance of establishing his own style without however; losing sight of the instrument's final destination: to make music.
