CONDITIONS AND FAQ
- The International Anton Rubinstein Competition for Violin Junior 2025 is organised by the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein Düsseldorf.
- Young violinists between the ages of 8 and 15 from all nations can take part in this competition.
- There are two rounds: the first round and the two-day final, in which the jury selects the winners.
How does the first round work?
- The first round will be completed via a video link on YouTube.
- The programme for the first round is freely selectable and should last a maximum of 15 minutes.
- The results will be announced by email on 22 March 2025.
- After the registration deadline, the names of the candidates participating in the first round will be published on our website on the date specified in the announcement.
- All candidates in the first round will receive a certificate of participation by email after the competition has ended.
- The jury will decide on the admission of a maximum of 20 applicants to the final after the first round on the date specified in the call for entries.
- The names of the finalists will be published on our website on the dates specified in the call for entries.
- The finalists will also be informed by email that they are in the final.
How does the final work?
- The final will take place at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf on 3 and 4 May 2025.
- Participants must be present in Düsseldorf on both days of the competition. The draw will take place on 03.05.2025 at 14:00. Attendance is mandatory.
- The order of the competition will be drawn in the presence of all participants, followed by a concert with the winners of the 2024 competition.
- The rehearsals in the hall will take place on 03.05.2025. The schedule will be announced beforehand. Each participant will have a 30-minute rehearsal with piano accompaniment in the hall.
- Participants in the final must perform a programme lasting a maximum of 15 minutes. The repertoire for the final is freely selectable and can be repeated from the first round.
- For the final, the participants may travel with their own piano accompaniment.
- However, the piano accompaniment can also be provided by the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy upon prior request. The fee of €100 includes a 30-minute rehearsal with the pianist and the performance at the competition (payable after admission to the 2nd round).
- Additional rehearsals with piano accompaniment before the competition are only possible by prior arrangement.
- On the second day, the final round will take place from 10 am to 6 pm, with a break from 1 pm to 2 pm. There will be no rehearsals in the hall on this day.
- The final round on the second day is open to the public.
- The jury reserves the right to cancel the performance if the 15-minute time limit is exceeded.
- The results of the competition will be announced at 7 pm with the awarding of certificates and prizes.
- All participants must be present when the results are announced
What happens if I am not in the final?
- All candidates in the first round will receive a certificate of participation by email.
What awards are there?
- The results of the final round will be published on our website and on our social media channels.
- All award winners will receive a certificate documenting the competition prize.
- All other finalists will receive a certificate stating that they took part in the final round.
- In 2025, the following prizes will be awarded in the competition:
1st prize - €1000, donated by Jason Price, Tarisio Auctions
2nd prize - €750, donated by the Blatow Foundation
3rd prize - €500, donated by the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music
- The finalists will also have the opportunity to borrow valuable instruments from the Blatow Foundation: a 3/4 violin by Carlo Bergonzi II (1780 Cremona), a violin by Bernardo Calcagno (1743 Genoa), a violin bow by Eugène Sartory and a 3/4 violin bow by Louis Morizot.
- All participants of the International Anton Rubinstein Competition for Violin Junior 2025 have the opportunity to take part in the masterclass with Prof. Misha Nodelman. The masterclass will take place on Monday, 5 May 2025, directly after the competition. Please register in advance by 2 March 2025. The participation fee is €150.
How can I register for the competition?

- The participation fee is 120 € (Early Booking 80 € until 2 February 2025). The participation fee is to be paid exclusively via PayPal (here) or the following bank account:

- The full name of the participant(s) and the desired competition must be stated with the payment.
- The entry fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
How should I create the recording?
- The programme can be chosen freely, with a duration of about 15 minutes.
- Candidates can submit one or more YouTube video links.
- The YouTube video links should be provided directly when registering, but may still be submitted by e-mail until the registration deadline for the respective competition.
- No new videos will be accepted after the registration deadline.
- The videos will be used for judging the first round. Finalists may either perform a new programme or the programme from the first round live.
What are the legal conditions?
- By registering, participants allow the organiser to freely dispose of the photo, audio and video recordings submitted for the competition for the purpose of documentation and public relations on its website and social media channels.
- The judgement of the jury is final.
- All registration deadlines and dates can be found in the announcement of the respective competition on our website.
- By registering, candidates confirm their agreement with the competition conditions.

• Der Internationale Anton Rubinstein Wettbewerb für Violine Junior 2025 wird von der Internationalen Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein Düsseldorf durchgeführt.
• An diesem Wettbewerb können junge Geiger:innen im Alter zwischen 8 und 15 Jahren aller Nationen teilnehmen.
• Es finden zwei Runden statt: die erste Runde und das zweitägige Finale, bei dem die Jury die Gewinner ermittelt.
Wie läuft die erste Runde ab?
• Die erste Runde wird per Video-Link auf YouTube absolviert.
• Das Programm für die erste Runde ist frei wählbar und soll maximal 15 Minuten dauern.
• Die Ergebnisse werden am 22.03.2025 per Email bekanntgegeben.
• Nach der Anmeldefrist werden die Namen der Kandidat:innen, die an der ersten Runde teilnehmen, zum in der Ausschreibung festgelegten Datum auf unserer Website publiziert.
• Alle Kandidat:innen der ersten Runde erhalten nach Abschluss des Wettbewerbs per E-Mail eine Teilnahme-Urkunde.
• Über die Zulassung von maximal 20 Bewerber:innen zum Finale entscheidet die Jury nach der ersten Runde zum in der Ausschreibung festgelegten Datum.
• Die Namen der Finalist:innen werden auf unserer Website zu den in der Ausschreibung festgelegten Daten publiziert.
• Die Finalist:innen werden außerdem per E-Mail informiert, dass sie im Finale sind.
Wie läuft das Finale ab?
• Das Finale findet in den Räumen der Internationalen Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf am 03. und 04.05.2025 statt.
• Die Teilnehmer müssen an beiden Wettbewerbstagen in Düsseldorf anwesend sein. Am 03.05.2025 um 14:00 Uhr findet die Auslosung statt. Die Anwesenheit ist obligatorisch.
• Die Reihenfolge des Wettbewerbs wird in Anwesenheit aller Teilnehmenden ausgelost, gefolgt von einem Konzert mit den Gewinnerinnen des Wettbewerbs 2024.
• Die Proben im Saal finden am 03.05.2025 statt. Der Zeitplan wird vorher bekanntgegeben. Jede:r Teilnehmende hat eine 30-minütige Probe mit Klavierbegleitung im Saal.
• Die Teilnehmenden des Finales haben ein Programm vorzutragen, das maximal 15 Minuten dauern darf. Das Repertoire für das Finale ist frei wählbar und kann aus der ersten Runde wiederholt werden.
• Für das Finale können die Teilnehmenden mit eigener pianistischer Begleitung anreisen.
• Die Klavierbegleitung kann aber auch nach vorheriger Anfrage von der Internationalen Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein gestellt werden. Der dafür fällige Betrag in Höhe von 100 €, beinhaltet eine 30-minütige Probe mit dem:der Pianist:in und den Auftritt beim Wettbewerb (zahlbar nach Zulassung zur 2. Runde).
• Zusätzliche Proben mit Klavierbegleitung vor dem Wettbewerb sind ausschließlich nach vorheriger Absprache möglich.
• Am zweiten Tag findet die Finalrunde von 10 bis 18 Uhr statt, mit einer Pause von 13 Uhr bis 14 Uhr. Am diesem Tag finden keine Proben im Saal statt.
• Die Finalrunde am zweiten Tag ist öffentlich.
• Bei Überschreitung von 15 Minuten Vorspielzeit behält sich die Jury das Recht vor, den Vortrag abzubrechen.
• Die Ergebnisse des Wettbewerbs werden um 19 Uhr mit der Verleihung der Urkunden und Preise bekannt gegeben.
• Für alle Teilnehmenden herrscht Anwesenheitspflicht bei der Bekanntgabe der Ergebnisse
Was passiert, wenn ich nicht im Finale bin?
• Alle Kandidat:innen der ersten Runde erhalten per E-Mail eine Teilnahme-Urkunde.
Welche Auszeichnungen gibt es?
• Die Ergebnisse der Finalrunde werden auf unserer Website sowie auf unseren Social-Media-Kanälen publiziert.
• Alle Preisträger:innen erhalten eine Urkunde, die den Wettbewerbspreis dokumentiert.
• Alle weiteren Finalist:innen erhalten eine Urkunde, dass sie an der Finalrunde teilgenommen haben.
• Im Jahr 2025 werden folgende Preise im Wettbewerb vergeben:
1. Preis – 1000 €, gestiftet von Jason Price, Tarisio Auctions
2. Preis – 750 €, gestiftet von der Blatow-Stiftung
3. Preis – 500 € , gestiftet von der Internationalen Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein
• Die Finalist:innen haben außerdem die Möglichkeit, wertvolle Instrumente der Blatow-Stiftung auszuleihen: eine 3/4-Violine von Carlo Bergonzi II (1780 Cremona), eine Violine von Bernardo Calcagno (1743 Genua), einen Violinbogen von Eugène Sartory und einen 3/4-Violinbogen von Louis Morizot.
• Alle Teilnehmer des Internationalen Anton Rubinstein Wettbewerbs für Violine Junior 2025 haben die Möglichkeit, am Meisterkurs mit Prof. Misha Nodelman teilzunehmen. Der Meisterkurs findet am Montag, den 5. Mai 2025, direkt nach dem Wettbewerb statt. Bitte um vorherige Anmeldung bis zum 02.03.2025. Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 150 €.
Wie kann ich mich zum Wettbewerb anmelden?
• Deadline: 02.03.2025
• Für die Anmeldung benötigen die Kandidat:innen die folgenden Unterlagen:
– Biografie (ausschließlich in Word)
– Foto
– Video-Links (ausschließlich YouTube)
– Zahlungsbeleg der Teilnahmegebühr (ausschließlich PayPal oder Überweisung).
• Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 120 € (Early Booking 80 € bis zum 2. Februar 2025). Die Teilnahmegebühr ist ausschließlich über PayPal (hier) oder die folgende Bankverbindung zu leisten:

• Bei der Zahlung sind unbedingt der volle Name des oder der Teilnehmenden und der gewünschte Wettbewerb anzugeben.
• Die Teilnahmegebühr wird in keinem Fall erstattet.
Wie soll ich die Aufnahme erstellen?
• Das Programm kann frei gewählt werden, mit einer Dauer von etwa 15 Minuten.
• Die Kandidat:innen können dabei einen oder mehrere YouTube-Videolinks einreichen.
• Die YouTube-Videolinks sollten direkt bei der Anmeldung angegeben werden, dürfen aber per E-Mail noch bis zur Anmeldefrist des jeweiligen Wettbewerbs nachgereicht werden.
• Nach Ablauf der Anmeldefrist werden keine neuen Videos mehr zugelassen.
• Die Videos werden für die Beurteilung der ersten Runde verwendet. Finalist:innen dürfen entweder ein neues Programm oder das Programm aus der ersten Runde live vorspielen.
Welche rechtlichen Bedingungen gibt es?
• Die Teilnehmenden erlauben dem Veranstalter mit ihrer Anmeldung, dass dieser über die zum Wettbewerb eingereichten Foto-, Ton- und Video-Aufnahmen zum Zwecke der Dokumentation und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit auf seiner Website und auf seinen Social-Media-Kanälen frei verfügen darf.
• Das Urteil der Jury ist unanfechtbar.
• Alle Anmeldefristen und Termine sind der Ausschreibung des jeweiligen Wettbewerbs auf unserer Website zu entnehmen.
• Mit ihrer Anmeldung bestätigen die Kandidat:innen ihr Einverständnis mit den Wettbewerbsbedingungen.
