Kaory Fukuyama
Born in Japan in 1968. In her country, after her academic studies, she worked on the restoration of stringed instruments for 3 years. Once in Cremona, she attended the International School of Violin Making “Antonio Stradivari” and graduated in 2001. She perfectioned her formation and apprenticeship with luthiers Massimo Negroni and Primo Pistoni, dedicating her attention on the construction of instruments.
Since 2003, she has been working at Eric Blot’s workshop as restorer of antique instruments. During the years 2003 to 2005, she participated to the Violin Making & Repair workshops organized by the International School of Violin Making in Parma and, in the years 2006, 2007 and 2009, to the Violin & Bow Restoration promoted by the British Violin Making Association.
