Sebastian Ribes was born in 1970 in Mexico City, Mexico.
His initial experience with violin making was in 1991 when he frequented the workshop of Antonio Carriedo and Octavio Aranda at Xalapa in Mexico; this lasted until 1993.
In 1992 he occasionally worked in Carlos Carbajal’s workshop in Mexico City.
In 1993 he move to Cremona, Italy to study at the International School of Violin Making (I.P.I.A.L.L.) and received his diploma in 1997 under the guidance of Master Vincenzo Bissolotti.
He now works independently and makes violins, violas, and cellos.
