After graduating in Philosophy from the University of Padua and in double bass from the Conservatory of Mantua, I became interested in the study of violin making.
I refined my technique and style under the guide of master Luca Salvadori.
I make and repair principally violins and double basses. I follow the processes of the traditional “scuola cremonese”, using the inside mould.
As far as violin is concerned, I prefer shapes inspired by Guarneri “del Gesù”, but, regarding the double bass, after years of research, I develop my personal shape.
I devote particular care about the acoustic performance, the tuning calibration and playability of my instruments.
Recently I took part in several competitions, gaining good placements and winning a prize for for the quality of tone at the ISB convention 2013 in Rochester (NY).
In October 2016 The Royal College of Music of London invited me to expose my instruments in a personal exhibition.
In 2016 the Dextra Musica Foundation of Oslo has added two of my double basses to its wonderful instruments collection.
In 2018 I won the Bronze Medal at the Makers competition held at the Lucca BassEurope convention.
In 2019 I won a prize for craftmanship at the ISB Bloomington convention.
In 2020 I won the first prize at the Makers competition held by the "Società Filarmonica di Trento" My production is of 4/5 instruments per year. -
