PRISMA takes place in Powell River, British Columbia – on the beautiful west coast of Canada – a stunning rural setting where the mountains meet the sea.
Our in-depth orchestral training program is designed to provide advanced students and young professionals with the essential tools to win a position in a professional orchestra. Masterclasses, workshops, private lessons, mock auditions, rehearsals, and performances bridge the education students receive at a university/conservatory and the professional life of an orchestra musician.
The internationally renowned artists from the world’s finest symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles will be on hand to teach, mentor, and perform as part of the PRISMA Festival.
As a PRISMA 2025 student, you will:
• Learn from and collaborate with world-class guest artists and talented peers • Thrive in a nurturing, collaborative environment designed for growth and creativity • Elevate your technical and musical expertise
PRISMA’s 2025 orchestra program will feature Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 6, the world premiere of Symphony No. 3 by Mosolov, and more, charismatically led by artistic director Arthur Arnold, former music director and conductor of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Our esteemed Guest Artists are principal players of some of the world’s leading orchestras, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, LA Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Montreal Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Victoria Symphony, and more. Students will work with PRISMA guest artists on a daily basis.
