The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is a unique orchestra with a rich history.
It has a concert series at the Royal Concertgebouw and is the principal partner of Dutch National Opera. In addition, the orchestra receives invitations to play on stages both in the Netherlands and abroad.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is an inspired collective with an expressive way of playing.
The orchestra creates unique interpretations through its core values: intensive teamwork and open communication.
Gordan Nikolic is musical leader of the orchestra and he leads the orchestra from the concertmaster chair in repertoire spanning centuries.
Every season the orchestra collaborates with guest artists like Maxim Emylyanichev, Rene Jacobs, Ivor Bolton and Roberto Gonzales Monjas.
Works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn form the heart of its repertoire and every year the orchestra commissions various young composers.
At the Dutch National Opera its repertoire centers around Mozart, belcanto (Bellini, Donizetti) and twentieth century or new music (Raskatov, Benjamin).
The orchestra is also involved in educational and social projects; we want to make classical music accessible to everyone.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is joined by the Nederlands Philharmonic Ochestra in one organization with beautiful offices and rehearsal spaces in the eastern part of Amsterdam.
