Born Dublin 1953.
Twenty six years in employment (mechanical engineering ). 1969-1995.
Maker of Instruments since 1980.
Full time since 1995.
1995-'98 Newark School of Violin Making (N.S.V.M.) England. Three year full time diploma course violin making and repair, attained certificat's for

Advanced violin making.
Cello making.
Viola making.
At the age of nine I learned to play mandolin and tenor banjo, and continued for almost thirty years until I made my first violin, this is the only instrument I play now (it won't let you play anything else). The first instrument I made was a tenor banjo, lots of metal work appealed to me because of the engineering background. After the banjo I continued making mandolin's and mandola's for about eight years before turning my hand to making violins.
Since my course at N.S.V.M. I have set-up my workshop from my house in Dublin's Stoneybatter (birth place of the famous Dublin poet Austin Clark). Here is where I work and sell my instruments , callers are always welcome but please do make an appointment.
